We have all kinds of examples and tools to get your creative juices flowing. We have a knowledgeable staff that can help make your visit easy and fun, and with our vast selection of pottery, we have something to fit every budget.

 

Gift Cards:  Gift cards make the perfect gift for all ages. Gift cards are available in any denomination. You can stop by to pick one up, or call the studio at 208-297-2333 to purchase one over the phone and we will send it to you or your loved one!

 

Shipping:   Are you visiting from out of town and would love to paint? We will ship your pottery piece home to you in a USPS flat rate box.

DO I NEED A RESERVATION?

At this time, we only accept walk-ins, however if you have a group of 6 or more, we highly encourage call ahead seating to make sure we can accommodate your group.

DO I NEED A TO KEEP MY RECEIPT?

No. We will have your pieces wrapped and bagged ready for you to pick them up. Even though we have your masterpieces ready for pick up, we encourage you to take a peek at them before you leave for two reasons: 1. To see how great they look! 2. To make sure they are the correct pieces because we are human and do make the occasional mistake.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PAINT A PIECE OF POTTERY AT YOUR STORE?

It depends on what piece you choose to paint. We have pottery ranging from $8 to $70. We do not charge extra for using paints, supplies, or for your time if you don’t finish your project same day you start. We have over 400 items to choose from at our studio with a price to fit anyone’s budget. Prices vary but include all you studio time, paint, glazing and firing.

WHAT IF YOU’RE NOT AN ARTIST?

Everyone is an artist at A Way with Clay! Come in with an idea and we can help you make it happen, or if you’re in need of inspiration we have tons of painted samples and design ideas to spark your imagination. Our friendly staff is always on hand to give you as much or as little help as you need in painting your work of art. We also have a great collection of stamps, stencils, and other neat tricks that we’d love to share.

IS YOUR POTTERY SAFE TO EAT OFF OF?

Yes! Our pottery is 100% lead free and is both microwave and top rack dishwasher safe. Like all ceramics they may chip and break so we recommend hand washing to prolong the life of your masterpiece.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET PAINT ON MY CLOTHES?

Don’t worry if you painting pottery and get our paint on anything. It comes right off with water. If you are painting canvas we supply aprons to help you stay paint free but no guarantees.

CAN I HAVE A PARTY AT A Way with Clay?

Yes, you can! Do you want to book a kids birthday party? An office party? A fun girl’s night out? A bridal shower or bachelorette party? Something fun for the grown-ups? Give us a call at 208-297-2333 to make a reservation!

Each party is given a 2-hour window to celebrate. We have several different types of parties to choose from. We offer 4 different ceramic party packages, two (2) canvas party packages, and three (3) different types of clay parties. You can bring any type of food to your party and we’ll supply the table settings (you are welcome to bring your own to match your party theme) just let us know when you make your reservation for your day of fun.

Deposits are required for parties/events of 8 or more.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT ON MY PARTY?

The deposit is how we reserve the space for your group. The deposit is applied to your party on the date of your event. Deposits are nonrefundable when a party cancels less than 24 hours from the date of their event, a party has less people than reserved for, or a party doesn’t show up. Call us if you have an emergency!

HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN PICK UP MY FINISHED POTTERY?

At check out, we will give you a pick-up slip with your pick up date! The turnaround is 7 days. So if you paint on a Wednesday, your piece will be ready for pick up on the following Wednesday. If you can’t come into the store on that date, no worries. We’ll hold your pieces on our pick-up shelf for up to 30 days.

WHAT IF I DON’T FINISH MY PROJECT?

Not a problem! We have two options for you. The easiest option is to take your unfinished pottery home with you and bring it back to our studio whenever you have time to finish. The other option is to leave it with us as a Project In Progress, and you’ll have 30 days to come back to finish it at no additional charge. Any pottery left over 30 days will be donated to the Veterans Center.

DO YOU SHIP FINISHED PIECES?

We do. If you are here on vacation and need your pieces sent home or you want to send your hand painted gift to a loved one, just let us know at check out. We ship domestically, and the cost depends on the size of the piece.

I WANT TO GIVE MY FRIEND A PAINTING SESSION AS A SURPRISE. DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?

Absolutely! All you need to do is drop by the store or give us a call, tell us the amount you want to give, and we will give you a gift card or send that gift card to your friend or love one! It can be applied to the cost of painting ceramics or canvas or used towards a clay project.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

That all depends on you! The more detailed the design, the more time you’ll need to finish. Usually, it takes approximately 2 hours to finish a painting project. If your project is more detailed or you have adorable kiddos who need to take a break and stretch their legs, you can always have us hold your piece as a Project in Progress.

CAN I BRING FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN?

Yes, you can bring your foods and beverages in. However, greasy/dusty foods can leave grease on the bisque and can cause painting problems. Snacks like hard candy are okay. We recommend you eat then wash your hands before starting.
